About The artist

Social Compassion’s Social Media Manager, Julie Jordan, is not only a digital storyteller —she’s also a classically trained fine artist. Her nature-inspired paintings have been featured in galleries from New York to Los Angeles, and she has served as a live painter at more than 100 events at diverse venues, including the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. Julie’s work is rooted in capturing the unique beauty of animals, people, and natural landscapes, bringing heart and depth to every portrait.

Fun Fact: Art and advocacy run deep in Julie’s family. She is the great-great-great niece of renowned American painter George Caleb Bingham, known as “The Missouri Artist.” A master of the Luminist tradition, Bingham’s paintings offer a rare window into early American life before photography. His artistic excellence led him to paint President John Quincy Adams, and he later served in the Missouri legislature, where he fought against the westward expansion of slavery.

By commissioning an animal portrait from Julie, you’re joining an extraordinary artistic lineage — one that continues to champion justice, compassion, and protection for all beings.
