Today, AB 1282 (Bloom/Wilk), the Pet Blood Bank Modernization Act, passed the Senate Business, Professions & Economic Development Committee with a unanimous vote.

Californians overwhelmingly support the licensing of community-based blood banks for all animals and to phase out closed-colony (caged) dog blood banks. Next, the bill will be voted on in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
