Need Your Calls This Week!
AB 416(Kalra), the California Deforestation-free Procurement Act, will be voted on in the Senate Appropriations Committee this week.
Please make three calls to let the Chair, Vice Chair, and the Senate Pro Tem know that it is critical to pass AB 416 this year! There is absolutely no time to wait. We must get this responsible, common sense policy on the books so that our state government’s purchasing does NOT contribute to tropical deforestation!
Need these 3 calls made from
today through close of business, Thursday, August 19th, 2021
Please ask they support and urge their members to vote
“YES” on AB 416!
Here is a Tweet for those who use Twitter:
California’s vast purchasing power should not be used to help corporations destroy global forests. @Portantino @SenToniAtkins @CAgovernor: Vote #YesOnAB416 — a bill to stop CA procurement contracts from driving deforestation & human rights abuses! RT to save tropical forests!
Please share and spread the word to make these important calls. And please, consider making a donation to support our vital work, it is very costly to have a professional team of lobbyists working for the animals in Sacramento!
