Sacramento, July 1, 2021 – Today, AB 1282 passed the Senate Agriculture Committee with a 5-0 vote. AB 1282, the California Pet Blood Bank Modernization Act, will help save the lives of our beloved companion animals by allowing community blood banks to operate in California, helping supply the overwhelming demand for blood to be used to save animals lives. We thank the authors, Assemblymember Richard Bloom and Senator Wilk, for their leadership on this issue. The bill will be voted on next in the Senate Business and Professions Committee. Look out for our next call to action on this bill very soon!
We can’t thank you all enough for your calls and letters – they make a huge difference!
Please share this email, spread the word, and encourage others to make these important calls. And, please, consider making a donation to support our vital work. It is very costly to have a professional team of lobbyists working for the animals in Sacramento!
