New York Daily News - ALBANY — A pair of New York lawmakers want to shut down New York’s live animal markets to help stem the spread of diseases and prevent future pandemics.

New York County Politics - COVID-19, the pandemic that is still ravaging the planet, originated from wet markets in Wuhan. New York and California state lawmakers are calling for a shutdown of all “wet markets” in their states, rolling out new legislation on both coasts to ban the markets—which in China are believed to be linked to the origins of the coronavirus pandemic—for good.
